. Introduction of the Study
In recent years, cloud computing has emerged as the prevailing model in most environments, offering better scalability and agility for IT infrastructure organizations. The multi-cloud strategy involves various proprietary providers or other more extensive cloud services, in which the distribution of workloads across multiple platforms is enabled and vendor lock-in vulnerabilities are avoided(Naqvi et al.)
While multi-cloud utilization has numerous advantages, it also demands a complex security framework to ensure the confidentiality and availability of data assets and records(3)ne primary security concern in the multi-cloud environment is the exponentially increased attack surface due to the distributed nature of the resources across diverse platforms(4)
Traditional security controls designed for one cloud ecosystem are not adequate to combat the sophisticated threats to cloud-connected devices(5)
Furthermore, the lack of standardization and interoperability between different cloud providers complicates security governance, as organizations struggle to implement uniform security policies and controls across their multi-cloud environments (Nair et al., 2024)
Another aspect of security arises from the difficulty in ensuring access control and authenticated identity in the multi-cloud setting. Using multiple authentication methods to provide secure verification and authorization for users accessing diverse cloud systems is becoming increasingly common(5)
The dynamics in the multi-cloud environments complicate access and identity management. Additionally, compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS will become progressively challenging, particularly with challenges of data location and jurisdiction spanning multiple cloud providers and geographic regions(Chauke et al.)
1.2. Statement of the Problem
In the fast-paced digital era, various organizations are adopting multi-cloud deployments to leverage the distinctive strengths provided by different cloud providers. However, this approach has substantial security challenges, such as non-uniformity of security policies, data privacy concerns, and complexity in managing threats
These are also added to by variations in compliance regulations across providers, the lack of uniform security practices, and the difficulty of managing and monitoring distributed data. Therefore, organizations are typically not able to secure their multi-cloud environments, causing potential data breaches, and unauthorized access.
Therefore, it is crucial to determine the security threats of multi-cloud systems and find efficient means of mitigating such attacks to ensure security of the data, and safekeeping of cloud-based infrastructure.
1.3.Objectives of Study
1.4.The Importance of Study
This study is important as it helps us understand how cloud technology can help businesses function more effectively. Most companies these days are trying to find faster, cheaper, and smarter ways of performing their work. Cloud technology offers them ways to do that.
It saves time and money, and it facilitates communication and data storage. The research also shows how firms can utilize cloud systems to be more competitive and flexible. Being aware of the pros and cons of cloud technology helps business managers and owners make informed decisions. The research also offers practical tips on how to deal with issues such as system crashes and security threats. Thus, this study is helpful to anyone who wants to implement technology to develop their business.(Waseem et al., 2024)
1.5. Research Questions
